报告摘要:

Compact high flux x-ray sources can be obtained thanks to Laser-electron beam Compton Scattering. Some Compton x-ray sources and related R&D activities are presently under development. Many projects which aim is to reach higher x-ray energy, higher flux or higher compactness have been launched worldwide, e.g.: Smartlight, STAR, ThomX and TTX. Whereas Smartlight, Star and TTX are based on LINAC technologies, ThomX is an electron ring of 50MeV-70MeV (a similar project TTX2 under design study in China). ThomX is currently commissioned by and at the IJCLab at Orsay. The aim of ThomX is to demonstrate the characteristics of an intense and Compact (lab-size) X-ray source based on Compton Scattering. The first X-ray beam was obtained in the summer of 2023. The Interaction Laser-Electron group of the IJCLab at Orsay (France) was created in this context and is now developing a unique knowledge on the optical system used for the interaction point of these machines and its subsidiaries applications.

First, the presentation will briefly introduce the main projects in which the Interaction Laser-Electron group of IJCLab (Orsay, France) is involved. Then, we will concentrate on the ThomX project and its recent first results.

报告人简介:

Kevin DUPRAZ has completed his PhD in 2015 at the university of Paris-Sud (now Paris-Saclay) in Orsay, France. During his PhD and post-doctorate position (until 2017), he worked on the design of the optical system of the interaction point of the ELI-NP gamma beam source. ELI-NP was a project of a gamma-ray Compton source in Romania, now aborted. Kevin has also taken the technical responsibility of the X-ray characterization of the X-ray beamline of the ThomX machine, during his post-doc. ThomX is a demonstrator of a compact Compton X-ray source, located in Orsay campus, that aims to produce a high X-ray flux of 1013 photon/s. Since 2017, he has a permanent position as a teacher at the university Paris-Saclay and he is a member of the team focusing on the laser-electron interaction of the IJCLab. A year ago, he took the project management of the ThomX machine.
