01/1996 – 04/1997 Postdoctoral position at the Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla, USA, under supervision of Prof. C.-H. Wong.
06/1997 – 04/2000 Work towards the Habilititation at the Institute of Organic Chemistry, University of Karlsruhe with Prof. H. Waldmann.
05/2000-03/2003 Max-Planck-Institute for Molecular Physiology and Institute of Organic Chemistry, Dortmund. Group leader in the Department of Chemical Biology.
02/2002 Habilitation in Organic Chemistry at the University of Dortmund.
Since 04/2003 Appointment as Full Professor of Organic and Bioorganic Chemistry at the Humboldt-University of Berlin
