内容简介:

Abstract of my presentation.
With a remarkable progress of an ultrashort laser technology, people can obtain a single sub-femtosecond optical pulse in the lab. This opens a new physical approach to molecular dynamics study, atomic physics , solid state physics, plasma physics etc. Especially, by combining the ultrafast technology and the high power laser technology, a new field so called high field science is appeared. In this field, for example, a dynamics of non-sequential double ionization in Helium can be observed experimentally. In my case, I am trying to apply this technology to study on the dynamics of ultrafast plasma oscillation. There is thought to be a possibility of controlling Giga volt per meter electric field with femtosecond accuracy.

In my talk, firstly I would like to start talking about the basic of the generation of an ultrashort optical pulse. Afterward, I will show the various interesting researches of high field science including my recent study.

CV summary

In 1985, I received the B. S. degree at Division of Science, Kyoto University.
In 1986, I received the M. S. degree at Graduate School of Engineering, Osaka University.
In 1990, I received the Ph. D degree at Graduate School of Engineering, Osaka University.
From 1990 to 1995, I was a research associate in Institute for Solid State Physics, University of Tokyo. There, I have studied on the development of ultrashort high peak power laser and multi-photon process with such extreme laser system.
From 1995 to 2002, I was an assistant professor in Center for TARA, University of Tsukuba. There, I started studying on the interaction between the extremely high optical field and materials.
From 2002, I have been an associate professor in Graduate School of Engineering, Osaka University. I also have started laser fusion research.
Now I am studying on the interaction between the ultrahigh optical field and materials. For generating such extremely high optical field, I also have an interest to the development of ultrashort high peak power laser and a special diagnostic method of such extreme plasmas. Recently, the acceleration of electrons to extreme high energy, which is over 1 GeV, with an ultrafast electron plasma wave is studied. Moreover, I belong to construction team for LFEX laser, which is a big glass chirped pulse amplification laser system for laser fusion study.
