  简介:
摘要:Low dimensional nanostructures and material vary in chemical composition, leading to very rich spectrum of properties and behaviors. I will discuss examples of very recent progress in my lab. One is the quantum conductance of graphene helicoids, which do naturally occur and must show remarkable magnetic inductance and magnetic field generation ability [1]. Second, I will explain why the growing MX2 islands/clusters show unexpected shapes of the bowties and David-stars, guide by the first principles DFT analyses and phase field modeling dynamics [2]. Last, we will discuss developments in pure 2D boron (often wrongly called borophene), from predictive theory or its synthesis [5] to superconductivity [6].
