AbstractAbnormal aggregation of proteins into the amyloid form is a common pathological feature of many diseases that include the Alzheimer, the Parkinson, and other prion diseases. Unfortunately, much dynamical and structural information of amyloid formation is still lacking. This talk will present simulation based (discrete molecular dynamics simulation method) and analytical (statistical mechanics of filaments) approaches to tackle these two issues.
