报告摘要：
Organisations must strive and continually adapt in order ?to sustain competitiveness and remain viable within uncertain ?environments. Through turbulent economic, social and environmental ?periods; organisations will experience disruptions and adversity. ?These disruptions can pose several threats to the performance of a ?firm. Understanding the features that allow for successful adaption is ?essential to ensure the continued operation and continuity of an ?organisation. This seminar will explore the concept of resilience and ?outline some recent research in the area.

报告人简介：
Dr.Ran Bhamra is currently Senior Lecturer at ?Loughborough University, UK. He is a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and a ?Member of the Institution of Engineering & Technology (MIET). Ran ?joined Loughborough University in 2008, prior to which his career ?experience includes process/productivity improvement, project and ?operations management for organisations that include Siemens Ltd., SCA ?Hygiene and Alstom Power Service UK. Ran has a PhD in Resource-based ?Strategy with research interests in organisational resilience, ?competitiveness and resource-based theory. Ran is a Visiting Associate ?Professor at the University of Hong Kong. Ran is an ad-hoc reviewer ?for several journals as well as an Editorial Review Board Member for ?the International Journal of Operations and Production Management and ?the new Continuity & Resilience Review journal.
