Professor Dowling简介：

Professor Dowling works primarily in the fields of acoustics, vibration and combustion. Her research is aimed in particular at clean combustion and quiet vehicles.

She is a Fellow of the Royal Society and Royal Academy of Engineering (Vice-President, 1999-2002), and is a Foreign Associate Member of the French Academy of Sciences. Ann Dowling is a member of the Council of EPSRC, becoming Chairman of their Technical Opportunities Panel on 1st April 2003, and is a member of other Government and Industry Advisory Boards. She is a non-executive director of CMI (Cambridge-MIT-Ltd) and a Trustee of the National Museum of Science and Industry. She was appointed CBE for services to Mechanical Engineering in the Queen's 2002 Birthday Honours List.
