Biography.

Doctor Xavier BOURRAT (habilitation) is a mineralogist, researcher of

French CNRS, working at the Orleans Institute for Earth Science. He is

also Council member of the "Universe and Earth Science Federation in

Central France" in charge with Exobiology and Organomineralization. He

held 10 invited conferences, 5 patents and more than 170 publication,

proceedings and conferences. He was the advisor of 30 theses and

masters. His fields of interest are the biomineralisation of nacre and

the sequestration of refractory carbon in the environment. He is also a

specialist of carbon and nanoceramics structure.
