内容简介：
This talk is mainly based on a recent ACM survey paper and several tutorials given at international conferences (ICIP 2003, ECCV 2004, and ICPR 2004). In this talk, two classes of face recognition techniques will be covered: image face recognition and video face recognition. The pros and cons of each approach will be highlighted with presentation of representative works. Recent evaluation results on face recognition systems will be discussed. In addition, we review recent advances on 3D face recognition and neuroimaging study of face recognition.

演讲者简介:
Dr. Wenyi Zhao (Senior member, IEEE) received the B.E. in Electrical Engineering from Tsinghua University, Beijing, P.R. China in 1990 and the M.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Virginia, Charlottesville in 1995. He received the Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 2000. He has extensive experience on computer vision and pattern recognition, image and video processing/enhancement, and biometrics.
Dr. Zhao received the Sarnoff Technical Innovation Award for his work on image enhancement in 2003. He received the best industry related paper award at the 17th International Conference on Pattern, Recognition, 2004. He has published more than 35 articles. He is the lead author of an influential ACM survey paper on face recognition (2003). He is co-editing a book on face processing to be published by Academic Press, 2005. Dr. Zhao has been giving tutorials at top international conferences on the subject of his expertise. He is a frequent reviewer for top IEEE and other nternational journals and conferences. He has served as a member/session chair of PhD committees and program committees of several international conferences. He was the program chair of the IEEE AMFG 2003 workshop and the general chair of the IEEE AMFG 2005 workshop.
