报告人简介：Howard A. Stone，美国普林斯顿大学教授，美国工程院院士及美国艺术科学学院院士。1988年在加州理工学院获得博士学位，1989年-2009年任哈佛大学工程学院教授，2009年年至今任普林斯顿大学机械与航空航天工程学院教授。2008年由于其过去10年内在流体力学研究方面的杰出贡献，获得该领域最具声誉的Batchelor Prize。研究领域：Fluid mechanics and transport phenomena of complex fluids including multiphase flows in microfluidic devices, cellular-scale hydrodynamics, the influence of flow on biofilms and bacteria and various flow problems at the interface of engineering, biology, physics and chemistry.
