Professor JOHN GERO is invited to host the seminars. He will talk on how to research design and hold discussion session with research students in engineering and in architecture.

John Gero is Professor of Design Science, Co-Director of the Key Centre of Design Computing and Cognition and Associate Dean of School of Architecture, Design Science and Planning at the University of Sydney. His research Areas: (1) Situated design agents: design agents founded on situated cognition concepts that allow them to gain experience; (2) Computational models of creative design: evolutionary systems; analogy; emergence; (3) Visual reasoning: emergence in design; shape representation; qualitative representations; (4) Evolutionary systems in design: genetic engineering; style emergence, complex evolution; (5) Cognitive models of design: protocol studies of designing; role of drawings in designing.
