讲座概述:Lectures in Computational Tire Mechanics
The field of computational tire mechanics is wide and important for current design and research in tire and automotive industry. The envisaged series of lectures is intended to give a general overview and deeper introduction into this important and specialized field.
Lecture 3 Tire rolling resistance and wear (90 minutes)
Dissipative phenomena in the tire structure are mainly related to the damping feature of rubber material. The increased dissipation, i.e. rolling resistance, is associated with a higher fuel consumption of the rolling tire. Therefore, one important design goal is to reduce the rolling resistance of tires. In order to investigate this feature numerically, an appropriate and reliable modelling is required. Different approaches will be introduced. As second important tire property is wear of the tread. The design goal is, to have an even wear feature in order to have a tire with a long lifecycle. One strong influence parameter on wear is the frictional behavior which cannot be considered as being constant and described by Coulomb friction.
