  简介:

摘要:The talk will start with a brief historical overview of adaptive control of infinite dimensional systems, including the current results. The presentation will then focus on a recently introduced class of the well-posed error systems and the corresponding robust model reference adaptive control (MRAC) laws for systems represented by parabolic or hyperbolic partial differential equations (PDEs) with spatially varying parameters and distributed sensing and actuation. The key breakthrough of discovering adaptive controller parameterization that yields two fundamental advances: linear and hence globally stable error system, and avoidance of the spatial differentiation of the measurements, will be discussed. These laws are then extended to encompass the disturbance rejection capability, retaining the aforementioned features. The case of time-invariant disturbance model is shown to lead to a distributed adaptive PI control law, thereby making a well-posed connection to classical finite dimensional control structures. The finite-dimensionalization of the control laws proposed using wavelets and novel concept of multi-scale Lyapunov functional is described. The extension to control of uncertain multiagent networks using the concept of boundary reference assignment is shown.

演讲人简历:Joseph Bentsman received the Electrical Engineering diploma from Byelorussian Polytechnic Institute, Minsk, Belarus, in 1979, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago, IL, in 1984. From 1975 to 1980 he worked as an Engineer at the Design Bureau of Broaching Machine Tools, Minsk, Belarus. In 1985, he was a Lecturer and a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI. In 1985 he joined the Department of Mechanical Science and Engineering, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where he is currently Professor of Mechanical Engineering. His current research interests include control of distributed parameter systems, nonsmooth and impulsive control, nonlinear dynamics, wavelet methods, robust predictive and self-tuning control, and their applications to power generation, steel casting, and mobile sensor networks. He has authored over 60 journal and 100 conference papers in these areas. Dr. Bentsman is a recipient of the 1989 US National Science Foundation Presidential Young Investigator Award in Dynamic
