简介: |
A common set of characteristics, objectives, and problems face transmission, distribution, and microgrid systems across the world. The role and importance of real-time human-in-the-loop simulation with power dispatchers in multiple geographic regions is discussed from the perspective of these shared themes and commonalities. Special attention is paid to research opportunities surrounding creation of new power system applications based on artificial intelligence, multi-objective optimization, and real-time simulation using realistic power system models and historical events. Ongoing research work by the speaker will be discussed, including operator-in-the-loop real-time simulation for training of power dispatchers, integration of advanced distribution management system (ADMS) applications, release of the new 9500 node ADMS test feeder, and global deployment of new electrification microgrids based on customer-side storage.
