Abstract:

Cloud Computing is a provision model of where whatever computing resource that can be think of (machines, network, software solutions, applications) is provided as a service.

This talk will first provide an overview of this technology, from its constitutive elements to its different service levels. Then, the importance of Cloud Computing in Europe will be analyzed through the EU Funded Research Projects in which the Distributed Systems Architecture Research Group (http://dsa-research.org/) is participating. Finally, some Research scenarios including the exploration of Planet Mars will be provided, in order to give ideas for potential collaborations.
