Gish Jen

American writer, author of The Love Wife, Mona in the Promised Land, Typical American, and a collection of short stories Who”s Irish？ She had won honours of the Lannan Literary Award for fiction, and the Mildred and Harold Strauss Living Award from the American Academy of Arts and Science. Friday morning, she will read and talk about her 2010 novel, World and Town, “a world-sized novel set in a small New England town, moving, humorous, compassionate, and expansive”, “as rich in character as it is brilliantly evocative of its time and place.
