Transport activities are the dominant consumer of “scarce” petroleum
products. And the critical technological advancements in vehicle and
alternative fuels hopefully bring significant (albeit uncertain) shift in
the dynamics of the transport system and resulting energy and emission,
which is meaningful especially for China with high growth rate and in
transition. This presentation will outline the author’s dissertation on
transport modelling and policy assessment and the discussion will mainly
focus (1) role of CGE and technology model; (2) modal split model based on
transport dynamic; (3) vehicle technology database construction; (4)scenarios and results.
