报告人简介: Professor Spalding was born in 1923 in England. He obtained his BA degree in Engineering Science at Oxford University in 1944 and his PhD in 1952. He was was appointed Professor of Heat Transfer in Imperial College London 1985. Professor Spalding authored many scientific publications on thermodynamics, combustion, heat transfer, boundary-layer theory and computational fluid dynamics. He was a founding Editor of the International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer and a founding Member of the International Centre for Heat and Mass Transfer. In 1974 Professor Spalding founded Concentration, Heat and Momentum Limited (CHAM). CHAM's major product is the PHOENICS computer code. He is the world-known pioneer and leading professor in CFD and NHT. Professor Spalding has won numerous awards and honors. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of London, the Fellow of the Academy of Engineering UK. He is a member of various Academic Societies including the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Ukranian National Academy of Sciences. He was awarded the Luikov Medal in 1986, the Bernard Lewis Medal in 1982, and the Max Jakob Award in 1978.
