演讲者简介：

        宫力，清华大学计算机系学士及硕士，英国剑桥大学博士。曾任职斯坦福国际研究院，兼任美国康乃尔大学和斯坦福大学计算机系访问教授，IEEE 《互联网计算》杂志和ACM TISSEC副总编，IEEE S&P， IEEE CSFW，和ACM CCS 等国际一流学术会议大会主席和大会程序主席。1996年加入全球500强的SUN公司, 被授予杰出工程师的称号并参加领导JAVA的设计。获得7项美国专利，在国际一流学术刊物上发表60多篇论文，出版过3部英文专著

2001年回国创建了SUN中国工程研究院并担任院长。被《互联网周刊》和新浪网评为“2003中国新经济年度人物”，并于2004年获得CCID和中国软件行业协会联合颁发的首届“开源领军人物”奖。同时兼清华大学信息研究院顾问委员会委员，客座教授。2006年6月转任微软公司MSN互联网技术部中国区总经理兼微软中国研发集团副总裁, 领导微软Web 2.0在中国的发展。清华企业家协会北京分会主席。

演讲摘要

The Internet can trace its roots to the ancient smoke signal-based communications networks, has gone through many generations of networking technologies, and finally settled around TCP/IP as the worldwide standard around mid-1990s. Since then, a large number of higher level applications have emerged, such as the Web 2,0 and VoIP, which sometimes argue for a revision or complete overhaul of the underlying internet. This talk reviews this development path, focuses on the key success factors of TCP/IP, and suggests how networking technologies may evolve to a future without TCP/IP. This talk will be a useful introduction of several classic works on networking and of sound principles in systems design.
