Abstract: The theoretical and experimental studies of nonlinear wave phenomena in mathematics, physics and engineering are advancing rapidly in recent years. In this talk, we report our analytical, numerical and experimental investigations on several nonlinear-wave topics including (i) universal weak interaction theory of solitary waves; (ii) soliton perturbation theory for general integrable equations; (iii) nonlinear light propagation in high-dimensional photonic periodic structures (both theory and experiments); and (iv) universally convergent iteration methods for solitary-wave computations in general nonlinear wave equations.
杨建科教授:1989年毕业于清华大学应用数学系,1994年获麻省理工学院应用数学博士学位,同年去University of Vermont数学系任教至今。杨教授最近十年的工作主要集中在非线性波动理论和非线性光学的理论研究方面。
