主讲人简介：

David D. Miller is Professor of Political Theory at Oxford University and Fellow of the British Academy. He is perhaps the most distinguished, and certainly the most productive, British political theorist. His research focuses on theories of justice and equality, environmental justice, democratic theory, the concepts of nationality and citizenship, multiculturalism and immigration, and global justice.

David Miller's research interests may be of special relevance for the Chinese context because they directly bear on some of the challenges that China is facing now, such as how to close the gap between rich and poor, how to promote a morally-defensible form of nationalism, and how to develop economically without destroying the environment. His ideas should stimulate much interest and discussion in China.

泰纳讲座：

本讲同属泰纳讲座（Tanner Lectures）系列。泰纳讲座由美国学者、实业家、慈善家Obert Clark Tanner创立，旨在促进人文价值领域的研究和思考，是探讨人文价值问题的国际知名论坛。此系泰纳讲座首次在中国举办。牛津大学Brasenose学院院长Roger Cashmore及剑桥大学Clare Hall学院院长Ekhard Salje将作为泰纳理事会理事出席本次讲座。
