Chief Architect and General Manager of Intel IT’s Strategy, Architecture, and Innovation organization will be discussing Intel’s path to Enterprise Architecture and leadership trends for IT professionals.  He will share his experiences in developing and managing the Enterprise Architecture practice including Business, Data, Applications, Technology and End User Experience for Intel’s IT organization and talk about establishing a research and innovation agenda that helps IT be a valuable asset to Intel and the Industry.  He will discuss the organization of IT and career growth expectations for the IT professional as well as give advice on the emerging trends that he has seen across the IT industry to help students better prepare for their careers within IT in the global economy.

Gregg Wyant is the Chief Architect, General Manager, and Director of Strategy, Architecture, and Innovation within Intel’s Information Technology (IT) Group. Prior to his current role, with eighteen years at Intel, his career spans architecting Intel’s early desktop and mobile solutions to driving software vendor optimizations for processor instruction set enhancements, to authoring the Ziff-Davis book How Microprocessors Work (translated into eight languages and used as the basic primer for Intel technology), to being Intel’s first Chief Data Architect.  His team won the 2004 DAMA/Wilshire Award for “Best Practices in Metadata Management” in the industry and the 2004 and 2005 International Zachman Institute Enterprise Architecture Excellence Finalist Award.  He holds a B.S. degree in Computer Engineering from Iowa State and a MBA degree from California State University, Sacramento.
