Prof. Uchiyama got a PhD degree in pharmacology at Hoshi University at 1983.He had studied and worked in Hoshi University from 1983 to 1995. He moved to Tokyo Metropolitan University at 1995 then he is currently a professor of Department of Applied Chemistry in Tokyo Metropolitan University in Japan.His current research field is micro analytical chemistry, analytical use of ink-jet device, chromatography, capillary electrophoresis and fabrication of micro chemical device. He is the author and co-author of more than 200 original research papers and 13 books. He has 8 important patents on microfluidic device,
inkjet and micro optical device. He is vice president of Japan Society of Analytical Chemistry (2013~). He was awarded a prize of Chemical Education from Chemical Society Japan at 2014.
