主讲人简介: Yilin Pan is a quantitative researcher specialized in impact evaluation, cost-effectiveness and cost-utility analysis, decision-making in resource allocation and Bayesian statistics. Yilin's research aims to facilitate the utilization of research evidence to better guide policymakers and practitioners' decision-making about resource allocation. Yilin earned a B.A. in English Literature and Linguistics and a M.A. in Higher Education at Tsinghua University, P. R. China, and a Ph.D. in Economics and Education at Teachers College, Columbia University, U.S.A. 讲座内容: Given the importance of education and the growing public demand for improving education quality under tight budget constraints, there has been an emerging movement to call for evidence-based decision-making in educational resource allocation at the school- and district- level in the U.S., which leads to an abundance of rigorous studies on the effectiveness, cost, and their trade-off of educational interventions.
This lecture provides a brief introduction on impact evaluation and three types of economic evaluation (i.e., cost-effectiveness analysis, cost-benefit analysis and cost-utility analysis), and discusses how to apply these methods to inform decision-making on resource allocation in schools and districts with real empirical examples. |
