摘要:

     Composite materials are locally inhomogeneous. The effective mechanical and physical properties of a locally inhomogeneous material depend intimately on its microstructure. This dependence makes it generally impossible to exactly determine them. Consequently, a great number of approximate methods, such as variational bounding techniques and analytical and numerical estimate schemes, have been developed to approach their prediction. However, already in the early pioneer works of Hashin and Hill, a few exact relations were discovered and several solvable microstructures were constructed for the effective properties of certain locally inhomogeneous materials. The usefulness of exact results and solvable microstructures is threefold. Firstly, they can serve directly for the determination of certain effective properties. Secondly, they can be used as benchmarks for analytical and numerical approximate methods or to test the optimality of bounds. Thirdly, they allow us to get a better understanding of the dependence of effective properties on microstructures. In this seminar, we synthetically present and discuss a few exact relations and solvable microstructures recently obtained for composite materials by the author and his co-workers in the cases of isotropic and anisotropic thermo-elasticity, elastoplasticity and elastic large deformations. In particular, we show how solvable microstructures can materialize the whole range of some effective properties and realize some extreme strain and stress fields.

简历:

1963年出生于四川省。1983年毕业于同济大学土木工程系。1986年和1989年获得法国里昂中央大学(Ecole Centrale de Lyon)硕士博士学位。从1989年到1999年,在瑞士洛桑联邦工学院(Swiss Federal Institute of Technology)从事教学和科研工作,先后担任该院的助理教授(1991-1994)和副教授(1994-1999)。从1999年9月至今担任法国巴黎Marne-la-Vallee大学的固体力学和土木工程正教授,曾任该大学工业工程系的系主任。

    何其昌教授的研究领域包括固体力学的多个重要分支,如损伤力学,接触力学,摩擦学,复合材料,各向异性弹性和细观力学。他在这些方面有系统性的研究成果,被一些权威专著引用,并成功地应用于解决工业和土木工程中的问题。何其昌教授现为欧洲力学学会成员,同时还担任法国电力公司(EDF),法国原子能委员会(CEA)和法国建筑科技中心(CSTB)的专家顾问,主持了多个欧洲研究项目。他组织过多个国际会议,并曾担任过固体力学杂志Mechanics of Materials 一期特刊的客座主编.
