The Urban Metabolism Models form a class of conceptual framework created and developed to describe the crucial aspects, phenomena and dynamics of cities. These models can be used for urban sustainability qualitative and quantitative analysis, as well as comparative analysis. The Sustainable Urban Metabolism Model represents the last evolution of the metabolism model structure.
Together with giving a detailed explanation of the last version of the model, a possible application to a quantitative analysis of Beijing sustainability will be shown.
