  简介:
报告摘要 Abstract:
During the recent years, the surgery for Parkinson's disease (PD) has raised various new developments (gene therapy, micro-lesioning, gamma knife, focused ultrasounds) in order to increase the efficiency and diminish the side effects. Its discovery in 1987 DBS at high frequency (HF) has progressively become the first choice surgical approach of patients suffering from advanced PD. The demonstration of this high-efficiency, reversibility and adaptability, depending on the precision of the targeting, has led to the extension of the method to several targets (VIM, GPI, STN, PPN). Finally, the purely symptomatic effect of DBS in these targets is being confirmed, not creating a slowing of the neurodegenerative process. This has justified the quest for a new method aiming at slowing down the neurodegenerative process, such as near infrared intracranial illumination, for which the preclinical studies in MPTP monkeys are extremely encouraging leading to a human clinical.
报告人简介 Bio-Sketch:
Alim-Louis Benabid, a French emeritus professor, neurosurgeon and member of the French Academy of Sciences, is the recipient of the 2014 Lasker DeBakey Clinical Medical Research Award by the Lasker Foundation. He obtained his MD in 1970 and his PhD in physics in 1978. After a post-doctoral fellowship in the laboratory of pre-clinical neuropharmacology of Floyd Bloom at the Salk Institute (1979-1980), he was appointed professor at Grenoble University, in neurosurgery and experimental medicine until 1983. From1988 to 2007, he was the director of the research laboratory INSERM unit 318, and from 1989 to 2007, head of the neurosurgery department at the University Hospital of Grenoble and professor of biophysics at Joseph Fourier University. He had published 523 scientific papers, achieving an H Index of 67 and received 23 medals and prizes.
