报告摘要:

After six years of data taking, no particle beyond the Standard Model has been directly observed at the Large Hadron Collider. However, some precision measurements of decays of beauty hadrons show tensions with respect to the Standard Model. I will review these so-called 'B anomalies', including the most recent LHCb and Belle measurements. I will summarize their experimental challenges, and also give some insights into what kind of New Physics the anomalies may point to. I will finally explain what future measurements will be performed, both at the LHC and at the Belle II B factory, in order to bring a definite answer on whether these anomalies are the first manifestation of new phenomena beyond the Standard Model.

报告人简介:

Dr. Thibaud Humair is currently a postdoc of Max-Planck Institute, Munich, Germany. He got his master degree from EPFL Switzerland three years ago and recently obtained his PhD from Imperial College London. Most of his thesis work was focused on electron reconstruction at the LHCb detector and on developing methods to achieve a high level of precision and reliability on measurements involving electrons. He was the main contributor of the updated LHCb RK analysis. Since May 2019, Thibaud has been a member of the Belle II collaboration, working on time-dependent CP violation.
