With the advances in digitalisation, and concepts such as smart grids  and the Energy Internet, the role of data and intelligence is critical  to the delivery of our future sustainable and decarbonised energy systems.

This presentation will describe the challenges and opportunities in  these topics, and how self-organising systems will be critical to  delivering our future security and resilience, dealing with the  complexities that will arise in the future. Examples of research and  new approaches will be discussed, covering future control rooms,  enhanced situational awareness and digital twins. All of this will be  in the context of recent advances in intelligence and digitalisation,  and the challenges of deploying such enhancements.
