  简介:
Summary
Inverse heat transfer problems have been studied extensively for estimation of
unknown boundary or initial conditions, thermophysical properties, heat source
strength, and geometrical configuration. A variety of numerical and analytical
techniques have been employed for the solution of the inverse heat transfer problems.
The conjugate gradient method with an adjoint equation, also called the Alifanov's
iterative regularization method, belongs to a class of iterative regularization
techniques. With a suitably defined stopping criterion, the number of iterations of the
estimation procedure is determined so that stable solutions are obtained for the inverse
problem. The method consists in choosing at each iteration a suitable direction of
descent and a search step size along this direction, for the determination of the
objective functional. Several examples will be shown to detail the application of the
Alifanov’s iterative regularization method for estimation of heat source strength and
heat transfer coefficient. Simultaneous estimation of unknown inlet temperature and
wall heat flux by Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm will be also discussed.
