简介: |
20th century Chemical Engineering was limited in the tool-set it had available to investigate chemical processes at an industrial scale. This is now changing and new techniques are being brought to bear. Examples include tomographic methods exploiting radiation effects and particle tracking methods such as Positron Emission Particle Tracking (PEPT). These and other methods are now being used in conjunction with computational modelling approaches such as discrete element methods (DEM) to assist process design and enhance performance. The design of industrial processes will be improved by the combined use of such modern experimental and computational methods. |
