Carl Redshaw received his BSc and PhD degrees from Newcastle University. He was a Robert A. Welch Fellow at the University of Texas, Austin, and a postdoctoral fellow with the late Professor Sir G. Wilkinson at Imperial College, London, and at the IRC Durham. Following a further stint at Imperial College, he was awarded a Leverhulme Fellowship and moved to the University of East Anglia in 1999, where he was appointed as a lecturer in Inorganic Chemistry, and was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2007 and Reader in 2009. He is currently a Visiting Professor at the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry (SIOC). His research interests include calixarene coordination chemistry, main group macrocyclic chemistry, catalysis and the use of metal reagents in the battle against Cancer.
