Abstract：

We will start with a review of phases and phases transitions beyond the classic Landau's paradigm. Then we will study the phase diagram of the Hubbard model on the honeycomb lattice. Based on recent quantum Monte Carlo simulation, the phase diagram of this model contains a fully gapped unconventional liquid phase. The nature of this liquid phase is characterized using the quantum phase transitions between the liquid and other phases.
