报告摘要：I will consider some important themes in particle physics in light of new experimental  information from the Large Hadron Collider and elsewhere, and will aim to deconstruct some of the central questions we will face in 2012.

报告人介绍：

Chris Quigg 教授是美国费米国家实验室的Distinguished Scientist，是国际著名粒子物理学家。他1966年毕业于耶鲁大学物理系, 1977年在伯克利获得博士学位,导师J.D.Jackson。然后在Stony Brook工作四年后,到费米国家实验室工作。

Chris Quigg 教授先后获得 Fellow of the American Association for Advancement of Science, Fellow of American Physical Society, Alfred P. Sloan Foundation Research Fellowship, Alexander von Humboldt Foundation Senior Scientist Award。2011年他获得了美国物理学会理论粒子物理的J.J. Sakurai Prize：" For their work, separately and collectively, to chart a course of the exploration of TeV scale physics using multi-TeV hadron colliders"。

Chris Quigg 教授的研究领域很广，涉及对质量起源的研究、TeV能量对撞机物理、重夸克物理、中微子物理等等。他频繁应邀在世界各地作学术报告，尤其是有关粒子物理学未来发展的报告。

2008年 Chris Quigg 教授应聘担任清华大学高能物理研究中心国际顾问委员会主席。
