简介: |
Over the past five decades, microelectronics has become one of the major industrial sectors in our society. Integrated technology successfully serves as a powerful and versatile platform to realize complex systems with a small form-factor, high reliability, and a low price-tag. On the other hand, existing challenges in the consumer market, such as the ever increasing need for high data rate in communications, the tough demand for energy-efficient high-speed computation, and the increasing request for low-cost medical instruments to support home healthcare, all stimulate strong motivations for creating novel integrated systems.
In this talk, we will focus on applying integrated circuit technologies, with an emphasis on low-cost CMOS processes, to address various current technical challenges. The presentation starts with block-level innovations and focuses on energy-efficient broadband power generation circuits. Then, the talk moves onto the system-level integration and introduces a self-healing phased-array scheme to enhance the system yield. Finally, the presentation will extend the scope of integrated circuits and systems into interdisciplinary research areas. The topics include low-noise high-precision integrated systems for Point-of-Care (PoC) diagnoses and drug screening, and millimeter-wave/sub-THz systems for imaging and spectroscopy applications. |
