Moving towards a Green Economy:

 Challenges and Opportunities for International Cooperation

 on Science & Innovation

迈向绿色经济：科技创新国际合作面临的机遇和挑战

演讲摘要： Research and innovation as drivers for the sustainable development, but also sustainability as driver for innovation. The emerging needs for a more efficient and wise use of natural resources and a more comprehensive protection of the environment and human health, are a unique opportunity for a radical switch to a new economy: green and low carbon.

Science & Innovation can drive this process, through development of new technologies and approaches, able to favour a more sustainable growth, create green jobs and opportunities, promote the improvement of people’s living condition.

The Italian Minister for the Environment, Corrado Clini, will discuss with professors and students on these topics bringing his outstanding personal experience in the International Cooperation with special reference to the Sino-Italian Cooperation Program for Environmental Protection, which in over 10 years implemented over 200 projects in support of China’s Sustainable Development, thus becoming a model for bilateral cooperation.

On this occasion, the “Sino-Italian Innovation Platform for Environmental Technology and Sustainable Development” will be launched by Minister Corrado Clini, Minister Wan Gang and President Chen Jining, a further milestone in the cooperation between the China and Italy.
