Compressed sensing enables accurate signal recovery from very few samples.
This opens a new opportunity to perform image reconstruction from few data
acquisitions to enable either high speed data acquisition in MRI, to enable
four dimensional cone beam CT in x-ray imaging, and even enable accurate
dynamic imaging from ill-posed data acquisition mode. In this lecture, we
will be discussing how to modify the conventional compressed sensing
reconstruction framework to a specific imaging system where tremendous a
priori information is available to be used to sparsify images. This
framework is dubbed as Prior Image Constrained Compressed Sensing (PICCS).
Several critical killer clinical applications of PICCS will be introduced
to the audience in this talk

报告人简介

Dr. Guang-Hong Chen graduated from Physics Department, Beijing Normal
University in 1991, one year earlier than his peer classmates. From
1991-1994, Guang-Hong worked at Cangzhou Teacher's College in Hebei
Province. From 1994-1997, Guang-Hong conducted his graduate studies under
the supervision of Prof. Mo-Lin Ge. From 1997-1999, he moved to the United
States to study semiconductor physics and strongly correlated systems under
the supervision of Prof. Mikhail Raikh and Prof. Yong-Shi Wu. Before he
received his Ph.D in 1999, Guang-Hong was elected as a Graduate Fellow to
conduct research at the Institute for Theoretical Physics in Santa Barbara,
California. After that, he spent two years as a Research Associate to work
on a variety of theoretical physics topics including 2D strongly correlated
systems, Bose-Einstein condensation, Electromagnetically Induced
Transparency (EIT), and noncommutative field theories. In the fall of 2002,
Guang-Hong completely switched his research directions from theoretical
physics to medical physics. In early 2003, Guang-Hong was appointed as a
tenured track Assistant Professor and the Director of X-ray CT Imaging
Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Dr. Chen received his early
tenure as a tenured Associate Professor in 2007 and was promoted to the
Tenured Full Professor of Medical Physics and Radiology in 2011 and the
Director of X-ray CT Imaging Center.

Currently, Dr. Chen is supervising more than a dozen of Ph.D students and
directing a group of Postdocs, Staff scientists, Faculty, and Clinicians to
conduct research in almost all of the x-ray related medical research
directions. His research has been continuously supported by federal funding
agencies and medical device industries with a total of about $10M and has
received about $10M research equipment support from medical industries. He
is on the editorial board of many scientific journals and has been serving
on the steering committee of many international conferences. He also served
as a panel expert to review scientific proposals for many federal and
private funding agencies. Up to date, Dr. Chen delivered more than 100
invited talks, published more than 120 scientific papers, and had been
granted more than 20 US and International patents.
