报告摘要:

The solution of the global energy and climate change problems critically depends on the availability and accessibility of renewable energy sources. As far as wind energy is concerned, considerable progress has been achieved in the development of land and off-shore based wind turbines over the past three decades. However, the greatest sources of wind energy remain untapped, that is, the wind over the oceans. Professor Platzer will present a proposal to convert the vast ocean wind power into hydrogen by means of large sailing ships equipped with hydropower generators and seawater electrolyzers. He will present recent results in the analysis of this energy ship concept.
