Roger Goody received his PhD degree in chemistry in University of Birmingham in 1968. In 1970 he became a postdoctoral fellow at the Sloan-Kettering Institute for Cancer Research. In 1972 he became a research staff member at the Max Planck Institute for Medical Research in Heidelberg. In 1983 he qualified there as professor in biochemistry/biophysics. Since 1993 he has been a director at the Max Planck Institute of Molecular Physiology, here he heads the Department of Physical Biochemistry. Since 2004 Roger Goody has also held a professorship in biochemistry at Ruhr University Bochum. In 2011 he became the vice president of the GBM (Society of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology). |
