【演讲人简介】
胡志德（Theodore Huters），斯坦福大学文学博士，加州大学洛杉矶分校（UCLA）东亚语言与文化系荣休教授。现任香港中文大学翻译研究中心《译丛》（Renditions）杂志主编，上海交通大学客座教授。主要研究领域为晚清民初文学与思想史，目前的研究兴趣集中于二十世纪早期的通俗小说及其思想文化意义。
胡志德教授的主要著作包括Bringing the World Home: Appropriating the West in Late Qing and Early Republican China (Univ. of Hawaii Press, 2005); Qian Zhongshu（G. K.
