  简介:

Prof. Thomas Herzog has won numerous international awards for his pioneering work in bio climatic architecture, including:

- the first Mies van de Rohe award for European Architecture in 1981 and

- the 3-yearly Auguste Perret Prize by the International Union of Architects, 1996, in the same year as prof. Wu Liangyong

- the Fritz-Schumacher-Prize for Architecture, 1999

- the International Architecture Award, 2007

- Gold Medals from the German, French and Danish Academies of Architecture

 

At the start of his academic career he became Germany's youngest architecture professor at the age of 32. He has been guest professor at Tsinghua since 2003, is an Academician and also current member of, amongst others:

- International Academy of Architecture at UNESCO, Sofia

- Russian Academy of Science and Art, St. Petersburg

- Faculty of Architecture at University of Ferrara/Italy


This lecture will focus on a chronological overview of some of his most acclaimed projects, addressing the development of bio climatic architecture over three decades.
