报告摘要:The monitoring of faults (fault detection and isolation FDI) in control systems has traditionally been associated with various model-based robustness problems. It is well known that when the model dynamics used in the FDI monitor actually replicate the controlled system dynamics precisely there is no difference between the FDI problem for the open-loop system (with no feedback control) and the closed-loop system. However, when the FDI model dynamics do not replicate the system dynamics, for example because of model uncertainty then a special form of robustness problem exists in which the control system together with the modeling uncertainty affect the fault detection residual signal, causing a decrease in performance of both fault detection and fault isolation. A powerful way to deal with this robustness problem is to develop an integrated approach to the design of both the control system and the FDI unit, so that performance and design requirements of these two functions can be handled together. The approach to integration can either involve FDI residual design of fault estimation, where the latter is preferred.
The presentation will make a statement of the robustness problem prior to providing an outline of the background theory and mathematical preliminaries that are important for this form of control and FDI/fault estimation integration. A review of some of the literature on this subject will be given describing methods which either make use of embedded residual signals or do not. Finally, a robust integrated approach to control and fault estimation will be described that is based on linear parameter varying (LPV) systems theory. A tutorial example will be given to illustrate the main concepts.
