【袁鹤翔教授简介】

Once Director of Board of Studies in English and Chairman of English Department, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong, Professor Yuan received his BA in English (Soochow University, Taiwan), his MA and PH.D. , in English and Comparative Literature (the Intercollegiate Program of Graduate Studies, Occidental College, Pomona College, and Claremont Colleges, California). He was lecturer, senior lecturer, reader, and professor in English at CUHK (1974-retired in 1998). He was founding president of Hong Kong Comparative Literature Association. He was visiting professor of English at National Taiwan University, National Cheng Chi University (sabbatical leaves), and served as Dean of College of Arts and Director of Centre of Research in Literature and Linguistics at National Chung Cheng University in Taiwan (1990-92, on leave from CUHK). He was appointed Hsieh Tung-ming Chair of Humanities and Social Sciences at Soochow University (2000-2003), and is now visiting professor of English at Soochow University.

【Dana Gioia 教授简介】

Michael Dana Gioia is an acclaimed American writer, critic and poet. He earned his B.A. from Stanford University in 1973, an M.A. from Harvard University in 1975, and an M.B.A. from Stanford Business School in 1977. From 1971to 1973, he was editor of Sequoia Magazine and then its poetry editor from 1975to 1977.After that, from 1977to 1079, he was literary editor of Inquiry Magazine and served as its poetry editor from 1979to 1983. For the academic years 1986to 1989, he was a visiting writer at Wesleyan University. He won the Frederick Bock Award for poetry in 1986. His 1991 poetry collection The Gods of Winter won the 1992 Poets' Prize. In 1992, He retiredearly from his career as a corporate executive at General Foods to write full-time. After becoming a full-time writer, Gioia also served as vice-president of the Poetry Society of America. From 2003, he was chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA), the U.S. government's arts agency. In August2011,Professor Gioia became Judge Widney Professor of Poetry and Public Culture at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, California. On November 17, 2008, Gioia was presented with the Presidential Citizens Medal by President George W. Bush.

【Sir Christopher Bruce Ricks教授简介】

Sir Christopher Bruce Ricks, FBA is a British literary critic and scholar. He is the William M. and Sara B. Warren Professor of the Humanities at Boston University (U.S.) and Co-Director of the Editorial Institute at Boston University, and was Professor of Poetry at the University of Oxford(England) from 2004 to 2009. He is the immediate past-president of the Association of Literary Scholars and Critics. He is known as a champion of Victorian poetry; an enthusiast of Bob Dylan, whose lyrics he has analyzed at book-length; a trenchant reviewer of writers he considers pretentious (Marshall McLuhan, Christopher Norris, Geoffrey Hartman, Stanley Fish); and a warm reviewer of those he thinks humane or humorous (F. R. Leavis, W. K. Wimsatt, Christina Stead). Hugh Kenner has praised his 'intent eloquence', and Geoffrey Hill his 'unrivalled critical intelligence'. W. H. Auden described Ricks as 'exactly the kind of critic every poet dreams of finding'. John Carey calls him the 'greatest living critic.'
