Cities in East Asia have entered a new stage of urban transformation, as theyare facing a series of social problems after a period of rapid development. To improve urban management and to strengthen the capacity of addressing social risks has become common goalsamong cities in East Asia. Comparative studiesare suggested to analyze risk management, social development, family values and individualization, urban planning, environment protection and other issueswhich are challenging most mega-cities in East Asia like Beijing, Seoul and Tokyo. The conference is intended to facilitateexperience sharing and idea exchange, aiming at exploringa new pattern of urban transformation in East Asia.

东亚城市在经历了一段快速发展之后，出现了一系列新的社会问题，这一时期可称之为城市转型的新阶段。提高城市管理水平、加强社会风险应对能力已成为东亚城市共同努力的目标。会议希望通过比较研究的视角，围绕北京、首尔、东京等东亚大城市共同面临的风险管理、社会发展、家庭观念与个人化、城市规划、环境保护等问题进行研究，分享经验，加强交流，从而探索东亚城市转型的新模式。
