Abstract
Nanotechnologies are estimated to have impacted $251 billion across the global economy in 2009 and go further grow to $2.4 trillion by 2015. New devices require new materials with enhanced properties that can provide the necessary improvement for solving the daily technologic needs. Among them graphene has attracted the attention of many researchers and companies due to its excellent mechanical, physical, optical and electronic properties but, after one decade of analyzing the intrinsic properties of graphene, its use in the industry has become a major challenge. In this talk, I will introduce our advances in the use of graphene in realistic industrial products. First I will show you the performance of graphene as anti-corrosion material in oxidative environments. Then, I will introduce our patented fabrication-friendly prototype of graphene-coated AFM tips with enhanced conductivity, resolution and lifetime. I will show you how graphene can incredibly increase the performance of nanowires-based piezoelectric nanogenerators by reducing the nanowires-electrodes electrical resistance. And finally, I will also introduce my future work in the field of graphene-based Resistive Random Access Memory devices. |
