  简介:
A tutorial on the fundamentals of particle simulation of plasmas, with particular focus on the particle-in-cell (PIC) scheme will be presented. Methods for electrostatic and electromagnetic regimes, for classical and relativistic energies will be presented, as well as models for chemistry and atomic collisions, boundary conditions, noise filtering, and many other topics. The Plasma Theory and Simulation Group code suite is in use by over 1000 researchers worldwide, contributing to over 350 publications in the last decade outside the PTSG.
