Perceptual Computing is bringing revolutionary changes to how we interface and interact with computing, communications, and entertainment devices. We are adding human-like “senses” to the computing devices so they will be able to “see”, “hear”, and “understand” the users. With these capabilities, we are enabling natural user interfaces based on touch, gesture, and voice to augment the traditional inputs based on the keyboard, mouse, trackballs, joysticks, etc. This talk will review the key technologies, developments and trends towards realizing natural human-computer interactions, and demonstrate a new class of interactive applications and user experiences.
 
讲演者简介
Dr. Achin Bhowmik is the Director of Perceptual Computing at Intel Corporation, where he leads the development and implementation of natural, intuitive, and immersive human-interface technologies and products. As an adjunct professor, he has taught graduate-level courses on computer vision, image processing, and display technology. He has >100 publications, including a book and 25 issued patents. He is an associate editor for the Journal of the Society for Information Display. He has been a session chair, invited and keynote speaker at a number of major conferences. He is on the board of directors for OpenCV, the organization behind the open source computer vision library.
