It is an exciting time for multimodality PET imaging; many new technologies and methods are developed in the past several years. In this talk we will introduce the recent advances in the multimodality PET imaging. We will focus on the emerging PET-MR imaging, and cover the following topics: the instrumentation challenges of PET-MR; iterative PET reconstruction using MR anatomical priors; attenuation correction for PET-MR and MR based motion correction. All the methods will be demonstrated with preclinical and/or clinical imaging data. We will also briefly report the recent development in 4D PET/CT where the motion is estimated from cine CT images; several clinical applications will be used to illustrate the power of 4D PET/CT. |
