Toshiba is a diversified electric/electronic manufacturer founded in July 1875, which provides a wide range of products and services on a global basis in various business domains, such as Energy & Infrastructure, Community Solutions, Electronic Devices and Components, Lifestyle Products and Services and Healthcare Systems & Services.
Under management policy of “Growth Through Creativity and Innovation”, we strive to create products and services in the field of smart community that enhance human life, and which lead to a thriving, healthy society. Toshiba presently sets three principal business domains of “Energy”, “Storage” and “Healthcare”, continually developing innovative technologies centering on these domains.
In China, Toshiba started business in 1972, soon after the restoration of diplomatic ties between China and Japan. Today, we have 84 group companies that participate in activities or business in China where about 35 thousands employees are working.
On the lecture, Toshiba’s latest worldwide activities on business or R&D for Innovation on principal business domains, and works in China such as R&D or industry-university partnership will be introduced.

Dr. Akira Sudo was born in Tochigi, Japan on September 11, 1951.
He received an Awarded doctoral degree by the School Science and Engineering from Waseda University in 1980.
He Joined Toshiba Corporation in April 1980.
He was engaged in Executive Officer, Corporate Vice President and Corporate Research & Development Center in June 2008.
In 2010, he was assigned as Executive Officer, Corporate Senior Vice President.
In June 2011, he was engaged in General Executive, Innovation Div., Technology & Intellectual Property Group.
In June 2013, he held the position of Representative Executive Officer, Corporate Senior Executive Vice President and General Executive, Innovation Div., Information & Security Group, Technology & Intellectual Property Group.
