讲演摘要
In the first part of this talk, we outline key design features and industrial challenges in the field of spectrum management for future cellular networks, we present a reliable energy-efficient spectrum management and optimization scheme. A switch-stay model of spectrum management is proposed that considers multiple challenges including transmission collision, sensing accuracy, throughput, and delay. An antenna selection sensing mechanism is included in this switch-stay model so that the energy consumption of the cognitive user is further reduced. The second part of this talk will present our latest progress on green healthcare research in heterogeneous networks. Inspired by the switch-stay model proposed in the first part of this presentation, a multi-mode power amplifier (PA) set for a relay node in a medical body area network is presented. Prototype PAs is developed and measured with a new switch-stay mechanism to maximize the energy efficiency, while, at the same time, satisfying the transmission reliability metrics. Facilitated by Toshiba’s real-time UWB MIMO Medav channel sounder, the knowledge of accurate dynamic body channels can be obtained, which would be useful to further improve the efficiency of the algorithms and reduce its complexity.
